A puzzle used to sit on a table and wait. You picked it up, your hands did the work, and you put it down finished.
Nobody optimised it for session length. There was no feed underneath it.
Infinite feeds. Autoplay. Tap-to-consume. The less you have to do, the longer you stay — so engagement got optimised against you, one frictionless swipe at a time.
So we built the input into the object. 24 screens across six sides, a 6-axis IMU reading every twist, tilt and shake, and eight processors keeping one program coherent across all of it. You turn it. It answers. There is no feed to fall into.

So here is what the money is: 24 IPS screens at 240×240 each, eight energy-efficient SoCs — one per module — and patented connectors machined tight enough that the whole thing reads as one solid object at 385 g.
And then: no subscription, ever. Nine games arrive pre-installed. Paid titles are one-time purchases. It lives on a shelf, it charges on its dock, and it gets picked up daily.

A few words about me. I am an inventor and international IT entrepreneur — an engineer and a programmer, and I love to create. As a student in 1996 I took part in a national computer-science competition and won first place in programming. Since graduating with a degree in Information Systems in Economics I have created several Internet projects and applications, sold some of those startups, and invested as a business angel in other people's projects.
While still a student, my business partner Mikhail Iosilevich and I came up with the idea of opening an IT business on the emerging Internet. Right after university we founded a joint company, which we sold in 2012 to Hearst Corporation for several million dollars. I moved to the USA in 2013, when Savva was 8 and my daughter Varya was 3.
I love puzzles. I hold several patents and won a prize in the international puzzle designers' competition at IPP'2018 — one of my puzzles is manufactured and sold by Excite Toys in Texas and by QiYi, one of the largest 3D-puzzle manufacturers on the planet.

I did not set out to build a console. I set out because four things kept bothering me:
In 2017 the answer was an Arduino, a 3D printer and a proof of concept that barely held together. It worked well enough that we filed our first patent within three months.
We took it to the CALL conference at UC Berkeley, then rebuilt it around STM32 hardware so the modules could actually talk to each other. In 2018 we put it on a table at Maker Faire Santa Clara — and the same word kept coming back from strangers picking it up: "Wow!" That is not a marketing story. That is literally how the product got its name.
A device this dense is expensive to build and almost impossible to photograph. Twenty-four screens look like a lit-up box until you see one twist. That is why the video sits at the top of this page and not at the bottom.
That's when WOWCube stopped being a prototype and became a platform: CubiOS, an open SDK, and room for a hundred apps built by people we've never met.
